Jazmin (Bengali: জ্যাজ়মিন) (born May 15, 1985) is a Bangladesh-born American pornographic actress, reported to be the first porn star of Bangladeshi descent. She made her first appearance in the adult entertainment industry in 2003, and, as of 2006, has acted in over sixty adult films.[3]In addition to her work in adult entertainment, Jazmin also does adult modeling, belly dancing, and is reported to have training in Jeet Kune Do.[citation needed] Based in the US, she is one of the few Bangladeshi female actors to break into the adult entertainment industry.[4]
Early life and career
Jazmin is the daughter of first generation Bangladeshi-Americans who migrated from the port city of Chittagong.[3][5] In an interview, Jazmin commented on her desire to be famous in some capacity. However, following a brief attempt at singing and her professional belly dancing career she still desired something more.[4]
"One of my friends said I would be good at porn if I tried," she continued. "I was freaked out the first time. Then I thought why not. I want to go with the flow. I just did my thing. I started doing nude modeling with High Society magazine. Then I started dancing for a couple of months. I got bored with it. I heard about Mark Spiegler from one of my friends. That he was an agent. I called him. The next thing I knew I was in porn."[6]
As one of the Spiegler Girls[7], an adult-performer management agency in Los Angeles, she soon started getting small roles in X-rated movies. Spiegler cast her in two movies – Orgy World 7 and Incumming 3 – with production houses Evasive Angles and Diabolic Video. For the next two months she arranged for almost continuous shooting with porn producers such as Anabolic Video, Red Light District Video, and Platinum X Pictures. The first two releases were closely followed by two films from the house West Coast – Booty Talk 48 and Bustin' Nutzs.[3]
In January 2004, Jazmin's made her first performance on camera with Booty Talk. This was followed by three films in the barely legal category, exploiting her age of 19 and youthful appearance – Easy Prey by Smash Pictures, 18 Year Old Pussy 3 by Sin City, and Barely Eighteen 13 by Devil's Film. She was then presented as a fresh, new, Latin face of the porn industry in her next four films – Who's the New Girl by New Sensations, Hot Ass Latinas 2 by Platinum X Pictures, Fresh New Faces 5 by Red Light District, and Teen Latin Dolls 3 by Exquisite Pleasures.
Jazmin started moving away from Spiegler, and LA. The last film she did as one of the Spiegler Girls was her biggest success till that time, BiggZ and the Beauties 11 by Digital Sin (directed by Axel Braun). She was still being billed as Indian, Middle Eastern, "Ebony" (meaning African-American), or Latin. Her next three films were done without Spiegler – Wet Brunettes Volume 3 by Platinum X Pictures, Double Teamed #4 by Digital Sin, and About Face by 3rd Degree. Maximum Xposure cast her as the female lead in Bangladesh Booty. This was closely followed by Throat Yogurt 2, a Platinum X Pictures production with Jazmin, again, as the lead.
Recent work
Bangladesh Booty is the first-ever internationally released formal/official pornographic movie to bear the name Bangladesh, and to feature a Bangladeshi in the female lead. It was also the first film to promote Jazmin as a Bangladeshi. It featured a multi-cultural host of porn stars, all posing as Bangladeshis. Jazmin belly dances, does yoga and has sex in Kamasutra positions in the film.[8]
Bangladesh Booty moved Bangladesh into a new arena of entertainment by being first to cast a declared Bangladeshi adult actress in her first leading role. It has also taken the emerging porn-film genre of Indian ethnic to a more detailed level, in recognizing smaller parts of the Indian subcontinent like Bangladesh, which the long-standing genre of Ebony ethnic had failed to do. It is even more remarkable that, unlike India or UK-based Indian ethnic films, Bangladesh Booty was made in the US, featuring a multi-cultural cast posing as Bangladeshis.
More work followed in 2005 with Anal Addicts 19 by Northstar Associates, Asian Cream Pie Invasion by Devil's Film, Squirting 101 4 by Digital Sin, Intrigue by Wicked Pictures, Head Master 1 by Adam & Eve Pictures, Oh Me So Horny 3 by Lethal Hardcore, and Worship This Bitch 3: The Jazmin Edition by Bouncy Pictures. 'Headmaster 2 by Adam and Eve Pictures, and Playgirl Private Pleasures by Playgirl/Wicked Pictures were released in 2006, as well as Bangladesh Booty 2 by Maximum Xposure.
